Reading 2-4-12

I did a reading yesterday with a new tarot deck I just got called the Wizards Tarot. I really like these cards. They are like the Rider-Waite Cards but with updated images that are more pleasing to my eyes.

My question was "What is the future between me and a guy I'm interested in?" I just pulled three cards to read together as one response to the questions and really no particular spread.

The first card was the 5 of Wands Reversed. I am suffering inner conflicts, so that it is difficult for me to make a decision. This card suggests that I have no faith in winning this man's regard, and so don't even try. It is like I walk into a job interview, sees all these other talented people waiting, and walks out. I am saying, "What's the use of even trying. I can't possibly compete with all the other women who are attracted to him!" But all the wands line up so I could eventually work together with him to reach accord and end resistance.

I need to look at defects and correct them. I should reform some of my ideas and attitudes and choose from a "win" instead of a "lose" point of view. I shouldn't compromise or accept defeat; I am too close to winning.

The second and middle card was the Alchemist (Temperance). This card indicates an important event will overpower all the other cards in both impact and effect. Many unforeseen or unexpected events are going to come up, but these elements will neutralize and transform situations, all with a positive end in view.

I am going to have an unexpected call from or "encounter" with an admirer, someone I am attracted to or involved with in the past that’s returned as if to have a last go-around or to close that chapter in my life for good. I need to work on myself and not be afraid to air my fears or let my demons surface. I need to confront them head on and if I need understanding, ask for it. Temperance may be, at first glance, a warning to "temper" my behavior, but it may also be a reminder that seemingly irreconcilable opposites may not be irreconcilable. This card urges me to have faith that I can merge fiery red and watery blue into otherworldly violet. But I will need to experiment, have confidence, and try, try, again. I am in a situation where I can't get opposites to "blend" together (choices, belief systems, families, and friends) and feel that I have to give up something. Temperance tells me that I don't have to do that. It says that a synthesis can be achieved if I am willing to keep on trying, experimenting, and adjusting the amounts. Blending has to occur bit by bit. This is where the "moderation" message comes in. I need to try to make my ambition more realistic and I might well achieve it.

This card tells me that I CAN and should put thesis and anti-thesis together to get the even more useful synthesis. But it will take time, care, patience and experimentation.

The card can also mean that divine guidance supports me in the alchemy of transformation with patience, compassion and forgiveness. Healing occurs holistically and by correcting imbalances and reconciling opposing beliefs.

The third and final card was the Knight of Wands. This card often predicts love entering my life. This card also points to a very passionate and impulsive affair perhaps base on love at first sight. This card indicates sexual energy and attraction. His style and flair adds excitement to my relationship and he is very demonstrative.

What struck me about this card was that the book says that he is an explorer in an underground realm that most of us will never see--the land of spirit, buried deep within the world of matter. It's a world that's mirrored in the structure of crystal. He's surrounded by pointed stalagmites and stalactites, mineral deposits formed over hundreds of years. The Knight seems to be searching for something. The object of his pursuit could be grail-like treasure. He might also be on a rescue mission. In either case he's pursuing his goals with unusual intensity. This adventurer burns with fiery passion and desire. The guy I'm asking about loves to explore caves. He is also a Taurus. I think the card is symbolizing him, and means with the other cards that this reading is about him.

He is a lover-ardent, impulsive and exciting. He makes sparks fly but shuns commitment. I may be involved in a passionate encounter. He has a tendency to clown around, amuse and entertains. Another meaning is that I will be moving into the unknown and have a change in position. My heartfelt desires are going to be met through the entry of a kindred spirit (one who I've met) with whom I will establish a deep rapport and mutual feeling of affinity, passion and trust.

Also the Knight is looking into the card in the middle, The Alchemist. They say when a card looks back it is looking at something in the past. The Knight is looking for what the Alchemist has created from his mixture.

I think all the cards together indicate that I will have an affair with him that will be passionate and intense, but it wouldn’t last. But when it’s over, I will be changed.
